Welcome to Discovery SchoolWe believe that our school should be a childdevelopment center, in its truest sense. This means that we have concern for the whole spectrum of development, including social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Emphasis is placed on accepting the child at the level he is. We try to meet his growth needs and to respect his individuality. The methods we favor stress first hand experience, freedom for the child to select activities for much of the day, and indirect modes of teaching, centering around play and games. In these ways, we hope to help each child feel competent through making, doing, and thinking. |
StaffDiscovery School staff are early childhoodprofessionals and specialists known for their excellence, dedication and enthusiasm. Teachers typically have a bachelors or Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education, while the Associate Teachers meet the state standards to be the teacher in charge of a class (AA or CDA). |
